Meanwhile, the emergency team answers a perilous rescue call for Noah Cyrus and her crew when they accidentally inhale chloramine gas.
Ryan and Samantha Get Devastating News
Outside the station, Ryan and Samantha are off for a routine pregnancy check-up when things quickly turn serious. Doctors inform them that Samantha could have cancer and she requires surgery immediately. The procedure might also require them to terminate the pregnancy.
Ryan thinks they should put their baby’s health first but Samantha isn’t ready to give up on their child without confirmation. Even if it puts her own life at risk. She decides to continue the pregnancy until they know more.
Emergency Cases of the Week
On the first anniversary of her husband’s death, Cammie spends time with Diana, a woman struggling with grief and guilt. …becomes one of the more emotional storylines of the episode.
The team also saves a mother whose hand is severely burned by mowing equipment while attempting to shield her baby. Ryan gains an insight into Samantha’s choice, witnessing her sacrifice. He vows to stick by her through whatever comes next.
Dixie’s Secret Source Blythe Investigates
Blythe continues to dig into Dixie’s ramped-up personal attack campaign. She and Cammie worry at first that Patrick, Blythe’s former partner, is sharing private family details.
Meanwhile, Don confronts Dixie directly and asks her to stop raising the drama. Dixie, instead, invites him around to her new home, and one night together can make it all disappear.
Don initially says no but then starts to question everything after seeing Blythe having dinner with Patrick and feeling ignored. In a moment of weakness, he texts Dixie and agrees to meet up.
Later Blythe finds out that Patrick is not responsible. In fact, he wants Dixie to be quiet because of their past affair that could ruin his reputation. This revelation startles Blythe and makes her rethink everything.
Finally, her father has a talk with her which helps her to put the pieces together and find out the real source of information of Dixie.
How Does Season 1 Conclude?
Blue moves into his new apartment, with help from Roxie and Taylor. But Don begins to second guess his decision and heads home. But Blythe is gone.
She’s gone over to Dixie’s house already.
Dixie is ready for her evening with Don, but her plans go haywire when Blythe arrives with a big surprise. Blythe tells her that she has bought out Dixie’s recording contract and put her career on hold. She makes it clear that it doesn’t matter what Dixie sings next.
Blythe also exposes the family’s private investigator was leaking information to Dixie and has already been dismissed.
Dixie refuses to be intimidated and shows Blythe the messages she exchanged with Don, including his admission to having fantasies and his intention to meet with her.
Blythe has read the texts, reaches her breaking point and slaps Dixie.
The season ends in a dramatic way when the two women get into a full-fledged fight, resulting in one of the most chaotic endings to the season.

Episode 18 is a full-on soap opera, with relationship drama, betrayal, and emotional confrontations, instead of focusing primarily on emergency rescues.
Don’s attitude is particularly infuriating. He doesn’t talk to Blythe, but allows jealousy and insecurity to lead him to a decision that could destroy his marriage.
But the story of Ryan and Samantha is the one with real emotional weight. Samantha’s hard choice between her own health and her unborn baby is one of the season’s best and gut-wrenching conflicts
9-1-1: Nashville, for all its dramatic moments, still can’t quite find the emotional chemistry fans expect from the franchise. You rarely feel like a close knit family with the team and a lot of the personal storylines seem to have little to do with the main emergency story.
The series has plenty of shocking moments by the end of Season 1, but also major questions about its identity in the larger 9-1-1 universe.
