Lukkhe – Season 1 Episode 3 “Trauma” Recap & Review

Lukkhe’s third episode opens with Sanober narrating the real story of the age-old rivalry between OG and Badnaam. She explains to Lucky that the fight started when OG stole a song written by Paddy and Badnaam and claimed it as his own. The tension finally erupted in a public rap battle where Badnaam beat OG and Sanober, Paddy and Jazz cheered him on from the crowd.

Humiliated by the defeat and the taunts flung at him, OG later lures Sanober to go backstage with him. Sanober thinks he wants to talk about a possible collaboration with Badnaam, under drugs influence. OG tries to rape her instead.

Sanober, fighting for her life, stabs OG in the eye, blinding him for life. Shaken by the attack and overwhelmed by her addiction, she collapses and is later hospitalized in a rehabilitation center. Sanober tells Lucky in the present that she blames herself for Badnaam spending his life on ruining OG.

The revelation leaves Lucky shaken emotionally. Back at home, he finally reveals to his mother what happened to Sanober before breaking down. Still burdened by the emotional load, he later lashes out at a teammate for talking disrespectfully about Sanober, and is sent home by his coach.

Badnaam is being defended by Lucky, and Gurbani asks him why soon after. When Lucky explains what OG did to Sanober, Gurbani offers to help her. She asks Lucky to arrange a meeting with Sanober so she can help her through the trauma and offers tips on how to talk to someone who lives with PTSD.

Jazz and Paddy, meanwhile, confront Lucky about distancing himself from Sanober. Lucky says he has been trying to find the right words, and that he is not abandoning her.

Elsewhere, Badnaam comes across his ex-partner Zubeida who is working with Nimmo. After the failed Mitta robbery, Badnaam arranges for a supply of chemicals through her and offers to share the profits.

Meanwhile, OG returns to Punjab and employs two contract killers from Uttar Pradesh to kill Badnaam. Later that night, Paddy begs Badnaam to get out of the drug business so they can start over. Badnaam refuses, saying he will not rest until OG’s career is ruined for good.

The next day Lucky apologizes to his coach and asks for another opportunity on the hockey team. Sanober joins him and the two have a heart to heart at last. Lucky comforts her, tells her she is a survivor and he will be there with her. His backing gives Sanober the incentive to return to the recording studio.

Badnaam takes Lucky with him to drop drugs that night. They don’t know the hired killers are right behind them, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. They finally track down Badnaam’s criminal activities and ambush him in a remote parking lot.

The Lucky and the Badnaam fight back and escape. In the ensuing violent scuffle Badnaam shoots one of the attackers and then runs him over with his car.

Badnaam, on Demon pills, mad with rage, loses all control. In one of the episode’s most disturbing scenes, he violently kills the wounded assailant as Lucky watches in horror.

What he has seen has left Lucky shocked and he asks Badnaam to show some remorse. Badnaam, however, says that he will give up anything if it means taking revenge on Sanober and finally killing OG.

Episode 3 ends with Lucky arriving at Gurbani’s house and agreeing to be her informant to bring Badnaam down.

Episode Summary

Episode 3 is the darkest and most emotional episode of the season so far. Sanober’s backstory adds important emotional resonance to her character, and finally reveals the real reasons for Badnaam’s hatred of OG.

Lucky’s emotional turmoil is convincing but the audience might get annoyed by his decision to stay away from Sanober after he learns the reality. He may have meant well, but his motives came from confusion and an overload of emotion. His silence did not help matters. It only compounded an already painful situation for her.

The finale is savage, intense, and impossible to look away from. Badnaam’s descent into violence shows how deeply revenge is entrenched in him, and how increasingly difficult it becomes to see him as anything but a man completely lost in obsession.

Now, with Lucky pitted against Badnaam, the upcoming episodes are set to turn into a dangerous and emotional battle.
