After the shocking events of Season 7, Outlander is back. One of the biggest surprises was that Faith may have been alive all along. Season 8 takes a lot from Diana Gabaldon’s eighth book, Written in My Own Heart’s Blood, and also uses parts from the ninth book to finish the long-running story.
Brianna, the daughter of Jamie and Claire, comes back from the future with a book written by Claire’s first husband, historian Frank Randall. Inside, she learns something terrible that changes their timeline: Jamie is going to die in the next Battle of King’s Mountain, which was a major battle in South Carolina during the American Revolution.
Claire tells Jamie to stay away from the battle because she wants to change the outcome. But the Fraser family has learned time and time again that fate will always find a way to make itself known, no matter how hard they try to fight it.
