Nicky said he’d convinced the district attorney to drop the charges against Liam. But Philip and Lenny allegedly fabricated evidence that sent Liam to prison where he eventually died.
Nicky, motivated by revenge, imagines a terrifying situation. He puts a gun to Lenny’s head and forces David to choose between saving Lenny or protecting Matthew.# A Dangerous Standoff Changes Everything
Things get even more explosive when Adam suddenly points a weapon at Nicky. Adam secretly worked as Nicky’s informant inside law enforcement after making a deal that would spare Philip and Lenny’s lives.
The confrontation threatens to get out of hand but Lenny manages to convince David to think about Matthew.
Surprisingly, Nicky never meant to pull the trigger.

Meanwhile back in Boston the investigation goes on on several fronts.
Williams is still in hospital, but stable, and Sarah tries to stay involved in the case. Julie takes her out of the running as her emotions are getting in the way of her judgment. But Muller and Chopra help her, secretly providing her with access to files concerning Martin, the missing Swiss child, whose case seems to be growing more relevant.
Meanwhile, Rachel looks into photographs missing from the Payne family day at Six Flags, thinking they might be an important clue.
In the meantime, Cheryl takes matters into her own hands. She will try to show that the boy the others identified as Matthew is not her son. She goes to Philip with a plan. She requests a DNA comparison with samples already on record, including hair from Matthew’s first haircut.
This move could finally blow the lid off years of deception.# Stephano raises the stakes
Meanwhile, danger is closing in around Rachel as Cheryl searches for answers.

The conversation brings long-awaited healing between the two and offers welcome emotional depth amid the larger mystery.
Their reunion also helps explain some of the tension that has existed between them all season long.
But the emotional moment is short-lived. With new information coming to light about Martin’s disappearance, Boston police are now actively hunting David for the officer’s death.
Williams sees the danger immediately. But if the police find out before the truth comes out, David’s chances of survival are slim.# The Fertility Center
Soon David, Rachel and Hayden have one of the season’s biggest revelations.
David discovers that Cheryl was impregnated at a fertility clinic connected to Payne. Digging deeper they find reports about a fertility doctor accused of impregnating patients with his own sperm, without their knowledge.
The doctor was one Dr. Heller, who appeared very close to Cheryl.
The implications are mind-boggling.
If the allegations are true, Matthew’s biological origins might be completely different from what anyone thought.# A desperate flight
Eventually security footage leads to the location of the group and Boston police trace them to the clinic.
Hayden selflessly gets himself arrested so that David and Rachel can make an escape.
He sacrifices so they can keep following the clues as the authorities close in on them from all sides.
The episode ends on yet another foreboding note. Stephano tells Dr. Heller he has no protection and must leave at once.
With secrets spilling and enemies scrambling to cover their tracks, the race to the truth has never been more urgent.### Conclusion
The show’s pace doesn’t let up in episode 6, and the show delivers one of its biggest twists yet. The whole mystery is changed by the fact that Matthew might not be David’s biological son, raising some important questions about Cheryl, Dr. Heller and the secret past of the Payne family.
