The Agency Season 2 Episode 4 is one of the most intense episodes of the season so far. Secrets are uncovered, loyalties challenged and several operations taken to the edge of disaster. By the end of the episode, just about every major character is in serious danger.## Home under fire: Danny comes home
Danny’s nightmare continued after her arrest. Darya warns her to keep her mouth shut during the questioning, knowing that the smallest slip up could have catastrophic results. Danny is left on her own, not knowing what will happen to her, as the authorities later take Darya away.
Back at HQ, Naomi is feeling guilty about Danny’s situation. She feels like one of their own wasn’t protected by the agency. Henry watches the team members in silence as the tension mounts.
When Danny is released, she returns home under the guise of compassionate leave after her grandmother’s death. But it’s apparent that her mission has left her with deep emotional scars. She starts to wonder why the agency hired her in the first place, and whether she was really up to the task.# Richardson Pushes Dangerous Deal
Elsewhere, Richardson is still in talks for the release of Samia. He meets with Dalaga, one of Hemedti’s men, hoping to strike a political deal beneficial to all parties.
The proposed arrangement would help legitimize Hemedti’s position, but the deal needs the approval of both Sudanese leaders and intelligence officials linked to the UAE. Progress has been made but the future for Samia is still uncertain.
Richardson later tells Martian that Hassan’s arrest should not derail the larger operation. But both men fear Henry may simply shut the whole thing down.# Disobeying Orders on Mars
Those fears are quickly realized when Henry pulls Danny out of the surgery. But Martian will not abide the decision.
He ignores direct orders and convinces Danny that the mission is still active and asks her to bring Hassan and Darya to London. This defiance creates a dangerous conflict between Martian and Henry with potentially major consequences.
Meanwhile, Darya is recovering from her brutal punishment while in jail. The violence against her is a warning to Hassan and his family, further escalating the pressure on the operation.# A Hidden Threat Within the Agency
Henry has Tom secretly bug the agents’ phones so he can keep a close eye on the whole team. Unbeknownst to Martian, Danny provides him with crucial intelligence that Hassan is meeting with oil executive Raymond Bidât.
The meeting caught Martian’s eye because Bidât’s company had ties to Iran’s oil industry. Martian watches the meeting from afar, feeding the information to his superiors as Richardson finalizes his deal with Dalaga.# Owen Moves Toward Disaster
Robyn gets in touch with him and the Viking investigation finally starts to make some headway. She pretends to need financial help and gets Viking to arrange a meeting in Africa.
Viking is implicated by the agency in the use of blood diamond funds to purchase land with a wealth of valuable minerals. The team is hopeful Robyn can guide them to the man, as he rarely makes himself directly available.
But the operation takes a shocking turn. Turns out Robyn has been in bed with Viking all along. Together they have conspired to lure Owen to Africa to find out who he really works for.
Owen boards his plane, thinking he is on his way to do just another routine assignment. Instead, he may be walking right into a deadly trap.Samia’s Nightmare Continues
Samia’s suffering too takes a new turn. Saeed tortures her psychologically by pretending to execute her in the middle of the night. Though Osman ultimately releases her from captivity, her prospects remain uncertain.
The episode hints that Osman is not the savior she needs. Samia appears to have traded one form of captivity for another, trapped between two dangerous men, no way out.# Final Thought
The Agency Season 2 Episode 4 manages to ratchet up the tension in every storyline. Danny is emotionally drained, Martian gambles his career, Samia is trapped, Owen walks into a death trap unknowingly.
“Those tensions between Henry and Martian could become the biggest fight of the season.” Martian’s refusal to cooperate could threaten his position in the agency and Henry’s increasing power could blow the whole thing apart.
The episode ends with viewers facing a number of big questions as Owen is heading into danger and several missions are falling apart. Will Owen make it through his run-in with Viking? Will Henry learn of Martian’s misdeeds? And can Samia get out from under the thumb of the people who rule her?
