Bloodhounds, Episode 1 In the first episode of Season 2, Kim Gun-woo and Hong Woo-jin wake up early to train for Gun-woo’s boxing match. Their strict schedule sets the tone for what will happen next.
After their training, the two go to So-yeon’s café and spend the day working there. That night, they sit down for dinner and talk about the match, which makes them feel both excited and stressed.
Gun-woo meets his opponent, Adik Belov, at the opening ceremony. Adik slaps Gun-woo on stage, which causes a stir and raises tensions right away. Gun-woo, on the other hand, stays calm and doesn’t react. At the same time, Mr. Lee leads Baek-jeong, Sergeant Yun Tae-geom, and Allen to Korea.
The next night, the fight starts. Baek-jeong and Sergeant Yun watch closely from the crowd. Adik wins the first round, but Gun-woo comes back strong in the second, landing a powerful blow to Adik’s eye that gets the crowd excited and gets Baek-jeong’s attention.
Gun-woo and Woo-jin plan their next move before the third round, hoping to win without hurting Adik’s already hurt eye even more. Adik sees Baek-jeong in the crowd and starts to worry about his debt.
Gun-woo hits Adik in the ribs in the last round and wins by knockout.
Hong Min-beom comes later that night with drinks to celebrate. The group thinks about President Choi and the friends they have lost. Min-beom tells the others that he wants to build a children’s hospital in Choi’s name, and they all admire him for it.
In another place, a darker story begins to unfold. To pay off his debt, Sergeant Yun makes Adik fight Baek-jeong in an illegal underground match. Allen streams the fight live, which gets a lot of people to bet on it. Baek-jeong keeps going after Adik’s hurt eye. The attack goes on even after Adik passes out. Baek-jeong kills him as soon as the cameras stop.
After that, Mr. Lee tries to get a doctor to take Adik’s organs, but Sergeant Yun stops him by cutting Adik’s throat. Then Baek-jeong asks Yun to set up a meeting with Gun-woo.
Gun-woo and Woo-jin meet Kang Tae-yeong, who uses a wheelchair, the next morning. They run errands for her, and she tells them that she will be working for Min-beom as a cybersecurity agent. She tells Woo-jin in private not to feel sorry for her. He tells her again that they see her as family and just want to help her.
That night, Baek-jeong and Sergeant Yun go to Gun-woo’s house and make him an offer: fight in their private boxing league, IKFC, for ten times what he makes now. So-yeon firmly says no to the offer, and the group makes them leave.
Baek-jeong makes it clear outside that he won’t take no for an answer. He tells Mr. Lee to kidnap So-yeon to use as a bargaining chip. Gun-woo, on the other hand, becomes more and more worried about his mother’s safety and puts in a security system at home.
The two ask Yang Jae-myeong about Baek-jeong, but they don’t get any answers. Woo-jin says they should get their allies involved, but Gun-woo says no because he doesn’t want to put anyone else in danger. They choose to deal with the problem on their own.
Mr. Lee, on the other hand, tells Baek-jeong about former Smile Capital members who are in jail because of Gun-woo and Woo-jin. He says he can get them out for a lot of money. Baek-jeong chooses Kang In-beom.
Four masked men come to Gun-woo’s house not long after. The attackers try to kidnap So-yeon while Allen hacks into the security system to turn off the cameras and open the doors. But Gun-woo wakes up just in time. He and Woo-jin fight back and beat the intruders, who then have to run away.
Gun-woo runs after the car that is getting away through the streets. As the car speeds away, Sergeant Yun, who is hiding nearby, turns on a device that sets the car on fire, which ends the episode on a tense note.

Bloodhounds is back after three years with a strong and intense first episode. The episode has a good mix of high-stakes action and warm moments, showing that Gun-woo and Woo-jin are still friends and funny even though things are getting more dangerous.
Gun-woo is still working toward his goal of boxing for South Korea, and Woo-jin is helping him as a friend and coach. But adding Baek-jeong as the main villain raises the stakes a lot.
Baek-jeong is shown to be a ruthless and unpredictable threat, and what he does in this episode makes him a strong villain. As the season goes on, his presence will probably push the main characters to their limits.
The premiere sets up a lot of conflicts and leaves a lot of room for them to get worse, even though the main story is still developing. Episode 1 is a great start to the season because it has a lot of emotional depth and a lot of violence.
