In the beginning of Episode 5, Brij finds out that Lachu now works for Laljibhai. Brij is surprised, but he keeps his cool as the Matka gambling business grows quickly.
A Dangerous Bet Changes Everything
The story moves to a night in 1969 when Anmol tells Brij to stay home after work. Brij soon hears about a big bet that could cost him 10 lakh rupees. He tells the stall runner to take the bet, even though it is risky, and he is fully responsible for any loss.
Brij Opens the Cards Against Advice
Brij tells Dagdu that he will open the cards at home. Dagdu tells him not to do it, but Brij doesn’t listen. He picks a combination that is good for the bettor and decides to honor the real winning number, even though it costs him a lot of money. He pays the winner in full, which makes people think he is fair.
Laljibhai Strikes Back with a New Plan
At the same time, Laljibhai talks about how great Lachu is and starts to plan against Brij. He takes Lachu’s advice and works with Bapat to bribe a politician, which causes police to raid Matka operations. Dagdu’s stall is attacked, and he has to run away.
Police Pressure Builds on Brij
Brij is under more and more pressure from the police. Dagdu goes to Brij’s house for safety, but Inspector Eknath Thumbade follows him and demands to be let in. Brij says no without a warrant and tells Dagdu that he is putting him in danger. Later, his lawyer tells him to stay away from the business because it is getting more attention.
Gulrukh’s Fresh Start and Emotional Bond
In another place, Gulrukh buys a property to open a hotel in the name of her late husband Russi. Brij helps her emotionally and spends time with her, which makes their relationship stronger.
Barkha Becomes Suspicious of Brij
When Barkha gets home, she sees Gulrukh’s perfume on Brij’s shirt, which makes her question his loyalty. At the same time, the media’s interest grows as Editor Shubhash gives TP the job of covering Brij’s growing Matka empire.
Dagdu’s Past and Hidden Life
Dagdu takes Sulbha to his village while he is hiding from the police. His family welcomes them with open arms, and Sulbha learns about his past. Dagdu thinks about how the Matka business has given him respect and stability.
Gulrukh Faces Serious Accusations
Gulrukh goes to see Russi’s mother to give her the insurance money, but people say she had an affair with Brij and is to blame for Russi’s death. She strongly denies the accusations and stands by her honesty.
Family Conflict and a Tough Decision
After Barkha’s test, a drunk gambler bothers Anmol and Rukmani, which scares the child. Barkha says that Brij’s business puts their family in danger. Brij decides to send Anmol to a boarding school in Panchgani, which Barkha strongly disagrees with. He goes through with the choice even though she doesn’t want him to.
Growing Tensions and Expanding Businesses
Brij helps Rukmani open a cotton mattress factory and goes to the opening of Gulrukh’s restaurant. In the meantime, Laljibhai and Bapat talk about how to hurt Brij while hiding their illegal profits in welfare funds.
Brij’s Arrest and Clever Escape Plan
Things get worse when the DCP tells Brij to be arrested. The police show up at his textile store with a warrant and take him into custody. Inspector Thumbade tries to show that he was involved in Matka operations while his lawyer works on getting him out on bail.
The police think that if the cards aren’t opened at 9 p.m., it will prove that Brij is guilty. But even though he is in jail, Brij is able to get the winning numbers to Dagdu through his lawyer. The numbers are announced on time, which weakens the case against him and lets him go.
Episode 5 Review: Tension, Drama, and Unrealistic Moments
This episode has a lot of tension and character drama, but it also has a few moments that are too convenient. It seems unlikely that Brij could pass the winning numbers while being watched by the police, especially since they were watching him closely. It also makes you wonder why he keeps doing such important things by himself, even though he knows they are risky.
Barkha’s Perspective Adds Realism
Barkha’s point of view is one of the more realistic parts of the story. Her criticism of Brij’s choice to send Anmol away shows how he often tries to avoid taking responsibility. He says he’s protecting his son, but his actions also show that he wants to keep his relationship with Gulrukh going without any problems.
Final Thoughts on Episode 5
In general, Episode 5 balances emotional conflict with rising stakes, which sets up bigger fights in the next episodes.
