Bloodhounds Season 2 Episode 2 Recap and Review

Bloodhounds Episode 2 Gun-woo and Woo-jin tell the police about the kidnapping at the start of season 2. An officer tells Detective Choi Gyeong-won that the CCTV footage around the house has been messed with while So-yeon gets treatment for her injuries.

The two friends say that Baek-yeong had threatened them before and forced Gun-woo to join his illegal boxing club. Gun-woo is also worried about Adik’s disappearance and wonders if Baek-yeong and his crew are involved.

The police tell Woo-jin and Gun-woo to move for their own safety. The group, which includes So-yeon, moves into Tae-yeong’s place.

Detective Gyeong-won, on the other hand, is looking into the burned car from the earlier case. Authorities find that someone put a homemade bomb in the car and set it off from a distance using a mobile device. This points to the involvement of someone with a lot of technical knowledge. Gyeong-won finds a burned wallet at the scene that has a business card for bodyguard So Jin-nam in it.

Woo-jin asks Tae-yeong to look into IKFC, the underground fight club, when they get back to her apartment. At first, Tae-yeong can’t find anything, but he eventually finds a secret website on the dark web. A video from a past match shows how violent and brutal the club is.

Tae-yeong runs into a paywall when she tries to get information about upcoming fights. She tells the group about the dangers of using personal financial information on the dark web. Gun-woo says that to get a mule card for safe access, you should contact Woo-jin’s old Marine senior, Mr. Moon Gwang-mu.

Sergeant Yun and Allen are watching the apartment without them knowing it. They go after Woo-jin when he leaves to meet Gwang-mu.

In-beom takes a pill that Mr. Lee sends him and has a bad reaction. The guards at the prison call for medical help, but the ambulance driver attacks one of them and takes the vehicle to Mr. Lee’s hideout. There, a doctor gives In-beom an antidote, which brings him back to life.

Mr. Lee tells In-beom that he can’t leave once he wakes up. He fights back and beats up a few guards, but Baek-yeong steps in and brutally stops him to show that he is in charge.

Woo-jin also meets Gwang-mu and tells him about Baek-yeong and the fight club. Gwang-mu agrees to help by giving them a mule card and even says he will join their fight. He confirms his theory that Woo-jin is being followed and gets ready to do something.

Gwang-mu follows the license plate of Sergeant Yun’s car and tries to stop him. He also tells Woo-jin to get Gun-woo, So-yeon, and Tae-yeong out of the apartment because their safety is at risk.

Gun-woo asks Min-beom for help because he doesn’t have many options. Min-beom makes plans for So-yeon and Tae-yeong to stay at one of his hotels. Gun-woo then rides his motorcycle to help Woo-jin and Gwang-mu.

Sergeant Yun, on the other hand, calls Baek-yeong and suggests that they kidnap Woo-jin instead of So-yeon. He thinks this will make Gun-woo do what they want. Mr. Lee sends more troops, and Baek-yeong agrees.

Yun lures Woo-jin and Gwang-mu to an empty yard, where they get into a fight. Yun can’t beat Woo-jin, so he uses knives to make the fight worse, hurting him badly.

When backup arrives, Yun and Allen back off and start looking for Gun-woo or his family. Gun-woo has already made sure they are safe, though. Yun reports back, and Baek-yeong threatens him, saying that if he fails again, there will be serious consequences.

Gun-woo gets to the scene a short time later and sees that Woo-jin and Gwang-mu are badly hurt. He fights off the last attackers and rushes them to the hospital, which ends the episode.

This episode shows some of the problems Bloodhounds is having in its second season. The first season moved quickly and kept your attention the whole time. This season, though, it feels less intense and doesn’t have the same sense of urgency.

Gun-woo and Woo-jin’s bond is still a strong emotional anchor, but Baek-yeong’s main threat doesn’t feel fully developed yet. His actions, other than getting fighters to join him, have not yet made him a truly scary enemy.

The story could still pick up speed, especially since there are still a few episodes left and some familiar allies are starting to come together again. The series is setting the stage for bigger fights, but it needs to raise the stakes quickly to get back to the level of success it had before.

Some viewers may also find Baek-yeong’s portrayal less convincing, especially since the actor is well-known in public and the character is supposed to be scary.
