Turn of the Tide – Season 3 Episode 6 Recap, Review & Ending Explained

A recap, review, and explanation of the ending of Turn of the Tide Season 3 Episode 6

As locals demand Eduardo’s release, the tension on the island rises in the first episode of Turn of the Tide Season 3. Rafael is worried about Silvia’s safety, but she insists on going to the protest because she feels bad for letting Eduardo take the blame last season. The group, with Rafael and Carlos, dresses up as the Night Vigilantes and starts a riot outside the police station. In a close-knit community, it’s clear that a lot of people on the island already have suspicions about who Eduardo is.

Why Did Eduardo Get Out?

Francisco questions Eduardo and calls him a drug dealer, thief, and violent criminal, saying he is more than just a fisherman. Francisco knows Eduardo’s friends are involved because of the CCTV footage from Cruz, and he pushes him to confess.

Francisco also talks about what Frias said about the couple who were killed, but Eduardo says he was looking into Brum and Banha. Francisco doesn’t trust vigilantes because he thinks they always become corrupt, and he wants to stop them.

Outside, the protest gets worse as people from the island say they are all Night Vigilantes. They tell the authorities that they should either arrest everyone or no one. Francisco’s boss steps in and says that Eduardo can’t be held because there isn’t enough evidence and the real killers have already been found. He is finally let go.

Why does Eduardo want to get back at people so badly?

When Moniz’s bodyguard beats Ian up badly enough to send him to the hospital, things get tense. Eduardo and the others come to see him, and Ian keeps saying he didn’t betray them. Eduardo takes apart his vigilante board because he is determined to find the person responsible and is upset that his mission has lost focus.

In a flashback, Silvia begs him to give up his plan for revenge while he’s in prison. Eduardo says no, still haunted by the drug deal that went wrong and ruined everything. He is still determined to find out who did it and make them pay.

What does Moniz want?

Moniz comes out as a strong figure, showing himself to be the buyer of the drug shipment. He says that Eduardo unknowingly helped pay for the island’s “progress,” which included plans to build a new port with Brum’s help.

At the same time, Pedro’s story about Moniz is kept from the public, which shows that Moniz controls the media. He pays Eduardo for the delivery that was made in the past and suggests that they work together, asking him to join him at an upcoming gala.

At the same time, Brum tells Silvia that Moniz will make a lot of money from the port project.

Why does Eduardo not like Moniz?

Eduardo won’t work with criminals again, even though he used to. He can see for himself how Moniz’s actions are hurting the island: businesses are closing, crime is rising, and people are having to sell their homes.

At a fundraiser, Eduardo gives a moving speech in which he says that he started the Night Vigilantes to make his life meaningful, just like his Uncle Joe did.

Do Carlos, Silvia, and Rafael get their happy ending?

Rafael’s many marriage proposals to Silvia finally work. At first, she isn’t sure, but she agrees after a funny moment with a hidden ring in a cinnamon roll. Eduardo helps them get married.

Silvia makes plans for her mother to take Nuno to the mainland during the coming conflict to keep their family safe. They survive, even though there are risks, which makes it seem like they will meet again soon.

Carlos also does well; he moves on to the next round of a competitive TV show and gets ready to go to Lisbon after the gala.

What Goes On at the Gala?

The Night Vigilantes get ready for a final fight by paying staff to hide weapons at the gala and getting workers to join their cause.

Eduardo separates Moniz’s bodyguard from the rest of the group, making it easier for them to take him out. During the event, Eduardo takes over the stage, holds Moniz at gunpoint, and shows the world how corrupt he is on live TV.

Silvia persuades Brum to betray Moniz by promising her a chance to be the hero. Brum agrees, saying he didn’t know about Moniz’s crimes.

When the Capelinhos volcano blows up, people have to leave right away. The destruction lets the police catch Moniz and Brum, but the Vigilantes get away.

What Happens at the End?

The group meets up again at Eduardo’s garage and escapes by boat, where they can see the eruption from a distance. They think about their dreams:

Carlos thinks about being famous, successful, and living openly without being judged.
Silvia envisions balancing motherhood with a thriving career
Rafael wants to be a professional football player and coach when he grows up.

They make fun of Eduardo for not being in their dreams, thinking he will move to the US. However, he realizes his true happiness lies on the island, recalling a childhood memory with his father. He chooses to stay, and the group shares a peaceful moment swimming together.

Episode Review

The Season 3 finale delivers a mix of emotional payoff and narrative inconsistencies. While the ending feels heartfelt and bittersweet, several plot points strain credibility.

A major issue is the inconsistency surrounding the Vigilantes’ identities—widely known among locals but somehow overlooked by law enforcement. Additionally, Eduardo’s quick emotional shift regarding Silvia feels rushed and underdeveloped.

The gala sequence also raises questions, including how the group funded their operation and why Moniz’s security was so minimal.

Despite these flaws, the final moments—centered on dreams, acceptance, and belonging—offer a sincere and satisfying conclusion to the characters’ journeys.
