Netflix continues to grow its list of gritty crime dramas, and Legends has quickly caught the attention of viewers for its tense storytelling, strong performances, and realistic depiction of undercover operations. Of course, fans who have finished Season 1 are already asking the big question: will Legends return for another season?

What Is Legends About?
Legends is set during Britain’s 1990s drug crisis and follows a group of ordinary customs workers who are recruited for a dangerous undercover operation to infiltrate and break up powerful drug trafficking networks from the inside.
Led by a seasoned investigator, the team must manoeuvre through changing alliances, growing peril, and the constant dread of discovery as they penetrate deeper into the criminal underworld. With the operation ramping up, every decision has life-changing consequences.
Will Legends Season 2 Be Renewed?
As of this writing, Legends has not been officially renewed for Season 2, nor has Netflix announced an official cancellation.
Netflix usually looks at a variety of performance metrics when deciding whether or not to renew a series — including the initial viewership numbers, audience retention, completion rate, and overall engagement. Some shows get quick announcements, others can sit in limbo for weeks or even months before learning their fate.
Legends has been received very warmly by both critics and viewers. The show has been praised for its character development, well written story line and consistently good pace.
Are the Legends coming back for another season?
Given the way that Season 1 ends, Legends seems to be a self-contained story. The core action concludes and most of the main character storylines are tied up by the finale.
The series has not been promoted as a limited series, but the ending feels so definitive that there may not be a need for a second season.
Netflix has pulled surprises on viewers before, of course. If Legends does really well on the platform and creates enough demand, there is always the chance of a renewal. If that happens, the show could be revived in an anthology kind of format with a new mission or story.
At this point, however, a second season doesn’t seem particularly likely.
What Could Happen In The Legends
There is no confirmed plot for season 2, as Netflix has yet to officially announce it.
If the series does return, the most likely direction would seem to be a new undercover operation, perhaps with returning cast members in a new investigation. Or, the show could go for an anthology approach, where each season follows a completely different criminal case but remains just as grounded.
When it comes to the future of Legends, only time will tell and fans will just have to wait for the official word from Netflix.
