Episode 6 of Deli Boys Season 2 sees the stakes rise with shifting alliances, betrayals and a shocking final reveal as the Dar family faces a dangerous new challenge. What starts out as a plan to wipe out one enemy quickly turns into a complicated game in which everyone is out for himself.# Lucky Comes Back
The episode opens with Lucky confronting Sugar with a gun. For a moment she looks like she is going to settle their score once and for all. However, Mir and Raj step in before she can pull the trigger and the three of them are forced to retreat and rethink their game plan.
Meanwhile Chadwater is still working covertly to destroy the Dar family. But his confident campaign is faltering. His popularity is dropping in internal reports, while Raj’s public image continues to rise.
Meanwhile Chadwater discovers that his assistant Matthew has been going through sensitive files. Matthew has sold him out, and Chadwater fires him on the spot.# The secrets of sugar uncovered
Dars search for answers with Chadwater’s plans a mystery. Lucky thinks the best way to go is to put pressure directly on Sugar.
When she confronts him, Sugar quickly finds out he has little room to maneuver. Lucky takes his daughter Seven hostage, after having Matthew kidnap her. Sugar, faced with losing his daughter, finally comes clean about what he wants.
He says he’s trying to get away from Mir and Raj and confirms the suspicions about his bigger plans. Lucky also lets slip details she picked up in his therapy sessions, suggesting she knows more than he thought.
She gives him a chance to help destroy Chadwater in exchange for his cooperation.# The Tables Are Turned by the Dars
Chadwater prepares for a sting operation on the Dars and the family makes a plan of their own.
The set-up looks to favour Chadwater at the outset. Old accusations and crimes are brought up again and the Dars pretend to panic. In the course of the confrontation, Sugar accidentally lets slip something about the Joey Tomatoes case and more or less admits to framing him.
Sugar doesn’t realize that everything is being recorded.
With the evidence now in their possession, the Dars completely turn the tables. Rather than being victims of Chadwater, they turn the investigation on Sugar. They even go as far as to further manipulate the story by making Max the real drug kingpin.
Chadwater sees an opportunity and agrees to help. Instead of chasing the Dars, he stands with them to shape Sugar and ensure his future.# Chadwater and the Dars Are Unlikely Allies
But when Sugar makes a last ditch play and takes Raj hostage, the alliance is tested.
Fortunately for the Dars, Lucky is there to intervene, neutralizing the threat before anyone is actually hurt. Sugar is arrested, and his immediate threat is ended.
Without sugar in the mix Chadwater and the Dar family have formed a mutually beneficial partnership. Raj agrees to publicly endorse Chadwater’s mayoral run in exchange for Chadwater’s help in rehabilitating his tarnished image.
At this moment both sides are getting just what they want.# The Casino Switches Hands
Later, Lucky visits Sugar in prison to settle some unfinished business.
She manages to get the signatures of Danyal, who was in charge of the property, and thereby takes control of the casino. The move massively boosts the Dar family’s influence and strengthens their growing criminal empire.
Things are looking good.# Ending Explained: Who Is The Oldest Dar?
The biggest surprise is saved for the end of the episode when the Dars are celebrating their victories.
The family is sitting down to a meal and Matthew comes with a pie. Lurking on it is a mysterious note warning that the “eldest Dar” is coming to claim his share of the family business.
The message alarms Lucky at once.
Before she can answer, she realizes the pie might be poisoned and frantically warns Matthew not to eat it. Sad to say, her warning comes too late.
The episode ends with the family staring in shock, beginning to comprehend the message’s implications.
The mysterious “eldest Dar” has finally revealed their presence.## Episode Recap
Episode 6 drives home the point that loyalty is a scarce commodity in Deli Boys World. In the hour there are characters who break old alliances over and over again when it is advantageous to them. Sugar deceives the Dars. Chadwater walks away from Sugar. Almost all choose self-preservation over principle.
But the episode does a good job of setting up the next big story line. The sudden appearance of the eldest Dar makes for an interesting mystery and hints that an even more dangerous player is about to enter the picture.
And that is what makes the poisoned pie so effective, it immediately establishes this unseen figure as a serious threat. It is not known if the eldest Dar is an older brother of Mir and Raj, a forgotten relative, or someone from Baba’s past.
What is clear, though, is that while the Dar family may have won the battle against Sugar, a much bigger battle is only just beginning.
