Gideon doesn’t threaten her, he offers himself as a man of vision. He maintains that the world is in pain because knowledge and power are in the hands of a few, and he thinks he can do better.# The Tragic Past of Gideon
Pike turns to Mythcarver to look into Gideon’s memories, and he sees the pain that made him. Once a plague of such magnitude had swept Exandria, claiming countless lives, and he had been desperate to defeat death itself.
In his quest for forbidden knowledge he met a woman who shared his grief. Together they hoped to forge a new future, one that would challenge the rule of the gods. But their ambitions brought punishment, and Gideon lost the one he loved.
These revelations make Gideon more sympathetic. But he doesn’t just want to destroy, he wants to take away death and give people back the ones they lost.# Vox Machina Gears Up For Battle
Pike battles with Gideon’s logic, but the rest of Vox Machina tries to revive the Orb able to reopen the path to Thar Amphala.
Tension forms in the group as Percy and Cassandra disagree on the risks. Vex manages to defuse the situation, allowing the team to continue on its mission.
Meanwhile, Keyleth manages to obtain a sample of the mysterious flower growing inside the Sun Tree and gives the elixir to Vax.## Vax gets warned
Vax has another vision from the Matron during the night. She tells him the end is near and he needs to go inside of the Thar Amphala to stop the Whispered One.
