Dear Killer Nannies – Episode 7 “The Last Lesson” Recap & Review

Episode 7 of Dear Killer Nannies starts in 1989, when Juan tells the story of how Pablo starts to pull away from his family as tensions rise between rival cartels.

Tina and El Dorado take Juan on a mission during this time, and he meets up with Pablo again. But things get dangerous quickly when gunmen start following Juan’s car. They start out as friends, but things quickly turn violent, and they have to run away. Tina is badly hurt in the crossfire, but El Dorado fights off the attackers and stops more people from getting hurt.

El Dorado rushes Tina to Angie for help at Napoles. He thinks Rodrigo is the informant who set up the ambush, but Angie defends him. Lagaña, on the other hand, is getting more and more frantic as Tina keeps losing blood.

At the same time, the police are questioning Rodrigo while he is in their custody about his supposed connections to Pablo’s cartel. He says he had nothing to do with it and won’t help. In another place, a very hurt Tina tells Angie about his daughter who lives in the United States.

El Dorado and Lagaña kidnap a doctor and make him take out the bullet because they are so desperate to save him. Pablo takes Juan to a secret place where they can spend time together. Pablo talks about how much he loves Argentina in a rare personal moment.

Rodrigo goes home after being released, but the police are watching him. He tries to trick the police by acting like he’s on leave while getting back in touch with his mother and younger brother.

Lagaña and El Dorado go to a church to find comfort while the doctor tries to keep Tina alive. El Dorado tells a priest, who is also Rodrigo’s uncle, what he did and leaves a note telling him to meet him at one of Pablo’s villas.

Rodrigo later hides from the police by dressing up in his uncle’s robe and using his younger brother as a distraction. When Lagaña and El Dorado get back to the villa, they find out that Tina is still unconscious. Lagaña won’t let the doctor take him to the hospital, even though the doctor says he needs to. Instead, he threatens to keep treating him on-site.

Angie goes to church to pray, and that’s where Rodrigo, who is still in disguise, finds her. They have a private moment together and think about running away together, dreaming of a life outside of Pablo’s world. Rodrigo tells her to keep going, saying that they can live if they protect Juan.

Jerry warns Pablo that their hideout has been found, so he and Juan have to get ready to run away again.

Angie goes back to Napoles that night and finds out that Tina has died. Lagaña kills the doctor in a brutal way and tells Angie to get rid of the body.

Rodrigo soon confronts Angie and says she is the one who told on him. He blames her for making Pablo hate him and almost shoots her, but he stops in the end.

Rodrigo goes back to the villa, pays his respects to Tina, and tells Lagaña and El Dorado that Angie has turned against them. Even when he says he killed her to protect Juan, they don’t believe him. Lagaña hits him with a gun, and the fight turns violent.

Pablo, on the other hand, gets ready for the worst by telling Juan that he left money for him and his family at the hideout. He tells Juan to use it if something goes wrong. A little while later, El Dorado comes to get Juan and take him back to Napoles.

The story then moves on to 1994. Juan thinks about what his father said and thinks about going to Argentina. He talks to Victoria and starts making plans to leave Mozambique. The group gets through immigration without any problems.

But at the airport, Juan runs into Angie by chance, which makes for a surprising turn at the end of the episode.

Review of the Episode

It never seemed like Rodrigo really killed Angie, and since the last episode ended with Angie being the informant, it makes sense that she would be. But it does make you wonder why Rodrigo didn’t just leave with her. His chances of keeping Juan safe were slim because Lagaña and El Dorado were already suspicious of him. Getting away with Angie could have given her a fresh start away from Pablo’s dangerous world.

The choices Juan makes are also strange. Since Pablo had already talked about Argentina as a possible place to escape, it’s not clear why Juan chose Mozambique first instead of going there under a new name. The Mozambique storyline seems a little forced, probably to make the drama more intense and get people to feel sorry for Juan’s problems.

“The Last Lesson” has a lot of emotional moments and tension, but some of the characters’ choices seem too complicated just to move the plot along.
