The last episode of Big Mistakes starts with Nicky and Morgan in the middle of a brutal massacre. Nicky tells Morgan to leave right away because he knows how dangerous it is. The two rush home, clearly shaken by what they saw.
What Happens During the Mayoral Elections?
Linda is nervously waiting for the results of the mayoral race back home. She talks to her kids while Nicky, Morgan, and Natalie are around. The tension grows when it becomes clear that the election has ended in a tie. Linda says that a game of chance will now decide the winner, which makes Natalie very angry.
Later, Linda finds out that she has to play Rock, Paper, Scissors with Tom to find out what happens. She tells Natalie that she ran for mayor because she felt lost after Nonna died, and she does so when she is feeling weak.
Linda’s revelation that Natalie was an unplanned child and Nicky was adopted makes the conversation emotional. Natalie is hurt, but she accepts her mother’s thanks for her help during the campaign and tells Linda to focus on winning.
What Happens to Tareq and Nicky?
Morgan, on the other hand, is scared that the gangsters will come back to finish what they started. Tareq thanks Nicky for helping him pay off his debts and asks him to be completely honest from now on. This makes Nicky feel even worse.
Nicky asks Tareq to go for a walk, and that’s when he finally tells the truth about the drug operation with the bulls and the Miami massacre. Tareq is shocked, especially when he finds out that the money that helped him pay off his debts came from drug trafficking. The revelation causes a heated argument, and Tareq leaves.
Yusuf kidnaps Nicky and tells him to be quiet, and at first, Nicky does what he says. However, the next day he tells Tareq everything, including his involvement with the cartel and the kidnapping. Nicky tells Tareq to go on the planned six-month cruise by himself, which ends their relationship because she knows how dangerous it is.
What happens to Max and Morgan?
Morgan and Max also fight while they are shopping for groceries. Morgan gets in the car when her burner phone rings, even though she’s distracted and on edge. She loses focus because of the sudden panic and runs over Max by mistake. She is so shocked that she calls Nicky right away to tell him about the strange call and the accident.
What do the Italians want with the brothers and sisters?
That night, Nicky goes back to the rectory and sees that he missed a call on his burner phone. Yusuf kidnaps him while he is looking around the house and takes him to a mansion where Morgan is already being held.
Yusuf says that what they did helped him get his job back and even got him a promotion. He admits to getting in touch with the Italian cartel that killed Ivan and Andre, but the brothers say that the massacre destroyed several cartels and left a lot of damage behind.
In a short time, three members of the Italian cartel show up. They pressure Yusuf to kill Nicky as a test of loyalty while simultaneously inviting the siblings to join their drug operation.
Is Linda the Mayor?
Linda gets ready for the important Rock, Paper, Scissors game with help from Natalie and Morgan. Anette, Max’s mother, comes to show her support.
It is announced that Tom has given up before the match can start. Linda is officially declared the new mayor, and Anette hosts a celebration party. During the event, she asks to speak privately with Morgan.
Who Has Been Pulling the Strings?
In private, Anette gives Morgan a necklace—the same one Morgan had previously stolen—claiming it as a gift connected to Nonna. The gesture quickly turns threatening as Anette insists Morgan must stay with Max and marry him.
Anette then reveals the biggest twist of the season: she was directly involved in the massacre that eliminated the Russian and Brazilian cartels. She welcomes Morgan into her world while making it clear that any harm to Max will result in Morgan’s death.
Later, Morgan shares the truth with Nicky—Anette is the one in control, and the Italian cartel answers to her. The siblings are shocked to learn that the same woman who runs the criminal world has also been helping their mother, who is now the mayor.
The season ends on a scary note when Anette poses for a picture with Nicky, Morgan, and their whole family.
Review of the Episode
The last episode has a great mix of crime and comedy that keeps the show’s unique tone. Nicky and Morgan’s relationship is still interesting and funny, even in the worst situations.
The last twist with Anette is truly shocking and makes the story even more complicated. She has a lot of power over both the criminal underworld and the political scene, which makes things a lot more dangerous.
A lot of people think that Anette may have made Tom give up, which would explain why he wasn’t there for the final fight. In a possible second season, we could see how she keeps control over Linda’s job as mayor while tightening her grip on Nicky and Morgan.
The finale sets up an interesting future by mixing family drama, crime, and power struggles in a way that leaves the story plenty of room to grow.
