Daredevil: Born Again – Season 2 Episode 7 Recap & Review

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episode 7 opens in the wake of the City Hall chaos. Wilson Fisk is hell-bent on reclaiming New York, and without Vanessa to temper his impulses, he acts with unchecked authority.
Karen’s Arrest and Meeting with Fisk
Karen Page was arrested and taken into custody. Fisk visits her in jail, and accuses her of taking people from him, and justifying his own actions in the name of order. Karen will not be intimidated and will call him on his fear. Fisk grabs her by the throat, but she is unperturbed and will not give him the reaction he expects.
Jessica Jones, Charles And Another Big Threat
Elsewhere, Charles wakes up and finds Jessica Jones waiting for him. She tells him to stop trying to pursue her. Charles pushes back saying he is the only link between her and Luke Cage who is currently overseas. He also says he no longer, especially in light of the Governor’s involvement, aligns himself with Fisk’s Task Force.
Jessica later tells Matt Murdock this information. In the meantime, Cherry shows up with vital information regarding Karen’s health. The evidence is overwhelming, and she’s being fast-tracked to a high security prison for vigilantes. Matt knows that a rushed rescue attempt would be giving Fisk exactly what he wants.
Raising the Stakes: Matt’s Method
Matt tells Jessica to stick around and help, Fisk playing it by the book. She refuses stating her priorities are stopping Charles and protecting Danielle.
Then Matt turns to Dex for help and, with Brett’s intervention, is able to have a brief conversation with Karen. He warns her of what Fisk has planned, and that they may have to cross lines soon just to survive what’s coming.
The Charges Against Karen
Karen is facing several serious charges including aiding and abetting murder, providing material support to Daredevil and inciting a riot. Fisk said he plans to pursue all charges aggressively and seek maximum punishment.
Fisk and Heather Fisk
She visits Fisk at his office to check up on him. He says he has had a difficult time, but the mood changes when he takes a ring out of his desk, suggesting deeper personal motivations and unresolved emotions.
Courtroom Drama Starts
Kristen is the one defending Karen at first, but eventually Matt becomes her defense lawyer. The trial is televised all over New York, attracting huge interest, including from Fisk himself.
Political Pressure Mounts
Task Force members are questioned and the Governor begins to see the instability of Fisk’s leadership. She realizes that he is becoming more and more erratic and decides to start suspension proceedings. But timing is everything.
Violence Breaks Out
As the cameras stop rolling, the Task Force refuses to leave, and tensions run high. Matt senses something is wrong and a shootout breaks out in the parking lot. The chaos continues.
Daniel: Assassination Attempt and What Happened to Him
That same night, masked intruders attack the Governor, but Dexter is there in the nick of time to save him. Meanwhile, Daniel meets Buck and fails to deliver on expectations. Buck returns the compliment, and beats him soundly.
Prison Encounters
Kristen visits the prison where she questions Karen about killing her own brother, as noted by the Mayor’s office, and has her undergo a psychological evaluation. In an emotional and physical turn, Karen hits Kristen several times during the tense exchange.
End of episode
In the last act of redemption Jessica Jones decides to go back and help after all. But for Daniel, it is too late, as Buck shoots and kills him, and the episode ends on a bleak and unresolved note.

Summary of Episode
This episode is very much about the aftermath of the City Hall incident, and is mostly about Karen Page’s legal troubles. But her interpretation of the character feels quite different from previous incarnations. She seems to be almost unshakeable, not appearing too scared even when Fisk is being overtly aggressive towards her. This shift undercuts the tension in their dynamic, especially in moments that should feel threatening.
One interesting question is why Fisk’s team doesn’t use Karen’s past, especially her brother’s death, more strategically in court. With all the records that are available, it seems like a missed opportunity to bolster the case against her.
The supporting cast is more integrated here than in prior episodes, on the plus side. Kristen and Heather both serve a clear narrative purpose as characters. The plotline involving Daniel seems slightly underdeveloped, and his eventual death doesn’t have much emotional weight; it feels more like a plot device than a meaningful turning point.
The episode ends with many cliffhangers, promising a tense continuation. The story is set for big things to happen in the episodes to come, with shifting alliances, increasing political pressure, and Jessica Jones coming back into the mix.
