Flunked Season 1 Episode 7 “Stuck” Recap & Review

Flunked Episode 7 begins with Eddy trying to show Océane that she’s been wrong about everything but Lucie interrupts and confirms Océane’s suspicions. Lucie thinks Sagirov might show himself at some point if he believes Océane has really found her father.
The insanity continues with the school’s photocopy machine being broken again. On a more serious note, Eddy admits his mother is dead. Pablo and Viviane respond by deciding to buy a funeral wreath. Pablo also tells Eddy that he has kept quiet about the fundraiser theft incident for now, but he plans to look into it further. But Eddy says the money will never be recovered.
Later Eddy finds a note in his locker from Océane telling him to meet her at the gym at 6 PM. When he arrives he meets Tiphaine who tells him she has received a letter addressed to her. Reading it out loud, Eddy realizes it was written by his mother, and mailed to Tiphaine. Oceane comes and cuts the moment short.
Océane asks Eddy what she means to him. Eddy, trying to answer, is confused by what she feels, but Océane gets frustrated. He prevents her from leaving, and decides to go with the flow, pretending to accept the idea of being a father. They decide to meet the next day at a bar as it is too risky to meet at the school. Their emotional exchange ends in a hug, secretly filmed by someone nearby.
Lucie told Eddy at his apartment that Océane’s mother was being watched and wiretapped. Eddy asks Lucie to take off his ankle monitor and let him out, saying he has done his job finding Sagirov’s kid.
Lucie refuses him and physically overpowers him and tells him that he must continue the act. She insists that he go see Océane this weekend and keep the relationship going. According to her, if Océane disappeared, her mother would contact Sagirov, who would be arrested.
The next day, in his locker, Eddy discovers two tickets to a Police concert. He realizes they are from Tiphaine and he goes to see her, they share a kiss. But the concert happens to fall on the same weekend as his planned trip with Océane, though Eddy insists he’ll work something out.
Meanwhile, rumors start to circulate about a video during Russian language class. Laurace takes the phone and tells Tiphaine that it’s more gossip, who is shaken. Later, Eddy meets Tiphaine for drinks and asks her to spend the weekend with him.
Meanwhile, Océane agrees to see Eddy and they talk a little. She goes by train, not by car. Tiphaine watches them from a distance, meanwhile, suspicious.
Back at school, Fabian hands Eddy a poem for his “dead” mother, suggesting it be put in her coffin. Eddy says coldly that he cremated her and threw away her ashes. His colleagues begin to shun him in the teachers’ lounge. Pablo walks up to Eddy and talks in riddles, which only makes him more confused.
At school Eddy is bullied when the students see a video of him hugging Océane in the gym. Later he is called to the office where Tiphaine hands him his termination papers. The two argue and, in a moment of desperation, Eddy reveals that Océane is his daughter.
He explains that he had a brief affair with Océane’s mother and that he only recently learned the truth. He admits that part of the reason he came to the school was also because of Tiphaine. Tiphaine is shocked and calls Océane to the office. Océane confirms that Eddy is her father and defends him fiercely. She even makes Tiphaine apoligize, which she does eventually.
Eddy thanks Océane for supporting him outside the office and asks if they can delay their trip until after her exams. He tells her he will not leave her. Later, Lucie confronts Eddy on his way home but he tells her that he will no longer play with Océane’s feelings. Eddy walks away. Their argument escalates.
Eddy is about to leave when Océane texts him to say he is going. She panics, packs her things quickly and leaves too.
Soon her mother finds she is missing and searches desperately. Sagirov shows up at Tiphaine’s house at around 4:30 AM holding her son Theo hostage.
Episode Synopsis
Lastly, in this episode, Sagirov is introduced, but not in the way one would expect. He plays the psychological game; instead of facing Eddy, he goes after Tiphaine. Even though he’s been built up as a major threat, he still feels underdeveloped and not as intimidating as the story suggests.
A deeper look into his character would have strengthened his presence and made the stakes feel higher. Still, the episode does manage to move the story forward in a big way, pushing several plot threads towards a turning point amidst the chaos.
