If Wishes Could Kill – K-drama Episode 3 Recap & Review

The second episode of If Wishes Could Kill starts with a look back at Se-ah and Geon-woo’s childhood. Geon-woo and her first meet in the elevator of their apartment building, where he quickly falls in love with her.

Se-ah hears mean rumors at school about her parents’ death, and some students call her “cursed.” But Geon-woo, Na-ri, Ha-joon, and Hyeong-wook are there for her. Hyeong-wook even gives her his favorite toy to make her feel better. This is the start of a close friendship between the five.

The Sad Present

Hyeong-wook’s death is officially ruled a suicide in the present timeline, but Se-ah is still not convinced and is very upset. She finds the toy Hyeong-wook gave her while she is at the school gym, which brings back painful memories.

She remembers going to see him the night before he died to give him a birthday present early. Hyeong-wook looked worried, especially because Geon-woo didn’t come to his party, but Se-ah tried to calm him down. He hinted during their talk that he had gotten a scary phone call and that the voice on the other end wasn’t really Se-ah’s.

A Mystery That Is Growing

The group is heartbroken in different ways because Hyeong-wook died. Later, Se-ah meets Coach Song and they try to make each other feel better. But when Coach Song talks about canceling practice, Se-ah freaks out. She remembers that Geon-woo once made a wish that practice would keep going, and if that wish is broken, he could die.

As she tries to stop the cancellation, a light from the ceiling falls between them, making the situation feel even more dangerous. In the meantime, Geon-woo gets a message saying that his wish has been granted and a timer counting down.

The Curse Grows

Se-ah runs to tell him, and the group comes together to figure out what’s going on. Na-ri, on the other hand, won’t believe Se-ah and says she brings bad luck, even blaming her for things that have happened in her life. As Geon-woo backs Se-ah, things get more tense.

Ha-joon tries to find out what’s going on by deleting the strange app from Geon-woo’s phone, but it keeps coming back. The timer keeps counting down, which shows that nothing can stop it.

The group agrees to meet at Se-ah’s house to find a way to deal with the real danger.

Psychological Terror Starts

On the way home, Geon-woo comforts Se-ah, and she tells him that she thought about quitting the team after moving to town. Geon-woo was the one who told her to stay.

Strange things keep happening at home. Geon-woo gets a scary phone call in which he hears Se-ah making fun of him, but she says she didn’t do it. He thinks someone might be watching them, so he hides the phones in a fridge.

Ha-joon soon looks more closely at the app, but he can’t turn it off.

Violence and Possession

Geon-woo starts acting strangely all of a sudden and says something is in his eye. His health gets worse quickly as he becomes more violent and confused. He starts to see something in the room that isn’t there and hurts himself trying to get rid of it.

Geon-woo attacks Ha-joon and Se-ah because he thinks they are to blame for his pain, and things get out of hand. Se-ah hits him with a laptop in a last-ditch effort to stop him, and he falls down.

Geon-woo is taken to the hospital right away and put in the ICU, where he is in critical condition.

A Dark Truth

Se-ah won’t tell her aunt, who is a doctor, what’s going on, and Geon-woo’s family starts to blame her for what happened. Na-ri also has a hard time with her feelings because she’s not sure who to trust.

Ha-joon, on the other hand, keeps looking into things and gets a warning from his sister, who is a shaman. She says that the group may have set off a curse connected to a spirit called “Jugu.” This curse spreads through digital media like photos and videos and shows up as a smartphone app.

She tells Ha-joon that the curse can’t be easily stopped and that he should stop getting in the way.

A Wish That Could Be Bad

Se-ah makes a desperate wish to save Geon-woo and bring him back to how he was before as his condition gets worse. She also decides to find out who is responsible for the deaths, thinking that she might be able to see what Geon-woo and Hyeong-wook saw.

Not long after, Geon-woo miraculously gets better, which proves that Se-ah’s wish has come true.
