Margo’s Got Money Troubles – Season 1 Episode 3 Recap & Review

Jinx comes to Margo’s apartment in the third episode of Margo’s Got Money Problems. He tells her he was in rehab and didn’t get her messages, but he wants to be a part of her life from now on. He gives her the money he made from selling his motorbike as a sign of his commitment.
Susie is shocked to find out that Margo’s father is her favorite wrestler. Margo lets Jinx stay the night, and Susie doesn’t mind.
Margo gets ready for a job interview the next morning, and Jinx wakes up early and starts cleaning the apartment. He says he will watch Bodhi, but Margo says no. She instead brings the baby with her to the interview, but things go downhill quickly when the interviewer criticizes her for bringing a child, which costs her the job.
Later, Margo meets with Elizabeth and her lawyer. They suggest setting up a trust fund for Bodhi worth $50,000 that will grow to $300,000 by the time he turns 18. Margo must give up her place at Fullerton College, stop talking to Mark and his family, and sign a non-disclosure agreement, though. She makes these sacrifices to make sure Bodhi has a good future.
When Susie gets home, she tells Margo that Jinx has been cleaning all day because it helps him stay focused. Shayanne shows up later with Margo’s maid of honor dress, but she clearly doesn’t want to see Jinx. When he hears about Shayanne’s engagement, he is surprised but tries to be helpful. Before she leaves, she tells Margo about a dress fitting that is coming up.
Margo goes out later to buy diapers, and she is getting more and more worried about her money. Jinx takes care of Bodhi while she’s gone and does a surprisingly good job. When Margo gets back, she sees that Susie is distracted by wrestling.
A wrestler named Arabella who was fired from WWE for having an OnlyFans account gets them talking about it. Jinx says that Arabella made more money in one month on OnlyFans than she did in her whole wrestling career.
Then Jinx asks if he can move in for good to help with the baby and the house. Susie lets Margo make the choice. In a private conversation, Jinx talks about how bad his past addiction was after he hurt his back. He says he is now clean and wants to stay that way for Margo and Bodhi. In the end, Margo lets him stay.
Shayanne and Kenny are having trouble agreeing on a wedding song, so Shayanne calls Margo to vent. Margo starts to seriously think about starting an OnlyFans account after the call and does some research on the site.
The next morning, she tells Susie what she found out, and they come up with ideas for content before Jinx interrupts them. Margo doesn’t want to leave Bodhi with Jinx because she’s running late for her dress fitting.
The fitting starts off well, but things get tense when Margo says that Jinx is now living with her. Shayanne tells Margo that she made a mistake and that she doesn’t understand how hard it is to be a single parent. The argument gets worse, and the appointment ends suddenly.
When Margo gets home, Becca video calls her and suggests putting Bodhi in foster care until she can get her life back on track. Margo is so angry that she throws her phone in the toilet. Jinx later finds it and dries it off.
Shayanne comes soon after and harshly confronts Jinx, but Margo steps in to protect him. Margo tells her father not to worry and asks him to stay after Shayanne leaves.
Kenny agrees with Shayanne’s worries and supports her in other ways.
Margo makes her OnlyFans account later that night. She tells Bodhi while she bathes him that he didn’t ruin her life and hopes he never believes anyone who says otherwise. A few minutes later, she gets her first notification: she has a new subscriber.
Review of the Episode
One interesting thing about this episode is that Margo chose “Hungry Ghost” as her OnlyFans username, which is a nod to Mark’s poem. She takes back what was once used to control her in order to become financially independent.
Jinx’s portrayal is also interesting, especially how he talks about his sobriety. For him, staying clean feels less like a choice and more like a show for his family—an ongoing effort to make up for his past.
Shayanne is becoming more and more of a complicated person. She does what she does because she’s scared—scared that Margo will make the same mistakes as a single mother and scared that Jinx will let them down again. At the same time, there is an emotional current of hurt because Margo’s willingness to give Jinx another chance goes against Shayanne’s own experiences and sense of stability.
Overall, Episode 3 does a good job of balancing character development with rising tension. It sets up hard choices that will probably affect the rest of the season.
