My Royal Nemesis is one of the most fun K-dramas of this year, blending modern fantasy with romantic comedy. With body possession, reincarnation, enemies-to-lovers tension, and unforgettable characters, the series has quickly become a must-watch for K-drama fans.
The story revolves around Shin Seo-ri, a struggling actress whose life takes an unexpected turn when she is possessed by the spirit of Kang Dan-sim, one of the most feared and notorious women of the Joseon era. Kang Dan-sim, the most beautiful, intelligent and ruthless ambitious woman in the kingdom, who once rose to be a royal consort, but was sentenced to death by poison.
But instead of disappearing, her soul wakes up in Seo-ri’s body in present-day Seoul.
Now living in 2026, Kang Dan-sim must adjust to smartphones, celebrity culture and modern society, while still maintaining the pride and attitude of Joseon royalty. Her life takes another turn when she meets Cha Se-gye, the cold and arrogant successor to the mighty Chail Group.
Their first meetings are filled with conflict, sarcasm and unceasing clashes but as their relationship develops, their rivalry slowly turns into something much deeper.
The drama stars Im Ji-yeon, Heo Nam-jun, Jang Seung-jo, Kim Min-seok and Lee Se-hee. The series is directed by Cheer Up’s Han Tae-seob.
