Oasis Episode 7 delivers a dramatic turn in the Celia disappearance mystery. Just when it looks like the investigation is finally getting close to the truth, a shocking revelation turns the entire case on its head. However, as Helena and Dani continue to dig for answers, new evidence emerges with surprising suspects and even more questions.
Jaen’s story is discovered.
The episode looks back at the night Celia disappeared, this time through Jaen’s eyes. He was told to collect drugs that were put in the forest and on his way he met Helena, who was drunk.
This caused a heated argument and during the confrontation Helena accidentally spilled some of the drugs on herself. Before things could get any worse, someone moved in on the area. Jaen whisked Helena away in fear of being discovered before their identities were revealed.
In the present, Helena and Dani convince Gines to let them talk to Jaen directly. The goal is simple: get him to talk, find something that ties him to Celia’s disappearance.
But Jaen will never confess to anything. Instead, he protests his innocence and implores Helena to believe him. Even suggests that Helena knows some secret about him which proves he is not to blame.
A Hidden Clue on the Roof
Jaen is taken away by the police, and Alicia comes forward with information that may change the investigation. Helena remembers the rooftop of the resort where Jen used to watch sunrises and sunsets.
Helena and Dani go there right away, thinking that the place might have clues. They discover Jaen’s radio phone which suggests that the rooftop played a bigger role in recent events than anyone thought.
Suddenly Gines appeared and interrupted their search. The two soon discover that trusting the authorities may not be the best choice, and the pair flee before Gines can stop them. He pursues them but they disappear into the hotel.
Relationships Still Going To Hell
Away from the central mystery, a number of personal stories reach a significant turning point.
Finally, Pablo breaks up with Maca and admits he has hurt her. The break-up is devastating for Maca, all the more so because it is unexpected. Sofia admits her part in the downfall of the relationship while Leo is there for her.
Maca and Sofia come to the conclusion that they deserve better treatment.
Meanwhile Laura is still obsessed with opening her grandmother’s safe. Oliver offers to help over and over again but she turns him down at first before changing her mind later in the episode.
New Evidence Puts Gines Under Pressure
Helena and Dani escape from Gines but are cornered again. This time, though, Inspector Sandra gets there before things get out of hand.
Sandra at first seems to want to defend Gines, but her attitude changes when Helena and Dani show more evidence that had been handed over previously. Sandra is worried by what she hears and she starts an investigation into Gines and orders a search of his vehicle.
Gines is immediately suspected when Celia’s bracelet is discovered. Police take him in for questioning and later guests are told authorities now have two suspects in custody.
Now that the resort lockdown has finally been lifted, most visitors are relieved that life can start to return to normal.
Jon Learns a Painful Truth
Jon catches his father, Felipe, buying jewelry, and another long-standing secret begins to unravel.
Felipe says the gift is for his wife but Jon is still skeptical. His suspicions are later confirmed when Oliver is seen giving the necklace to Leo.
That realization is tough. Jon finally understands the truth about the affair and angrily storms out, unable to deal with the betrayal.
New suspect in sight
Helena and Dani try to be positive, thinking the case is finally going in the right direction. They lose their confidence when they see a strange hooded figure throwing away a cigarette with a snake symbol on it.
Instantly the pair give chase and find to their astonishment that the person is Aurora.
Aurora said she found the cigarette in the room where police do the interviews. More importantly, she reveals that Gines was already in custody when she found it, which means someone else had to leave it behind.
All the information leads to a different suspect altogether.
The last twist
The biggest surprise in the episode is saved for the very end.
As she drives off alone, the viewers are made privy to a horrifying truth. Celia is hiding in the rear of her car.
The revelation turns everything we thought we knew about the case completely upside down, making Sandra the deadliest player in the mystery.
Episode Analysis
Episode 7 delivers its most shocking twist yet, revealing the connection between Inspector Sandra and Celia’s disappearance. The surprise does add suspense for the finale, but it also creates several major plot holes.
Questions come into one’s head immediately. What did Sandra do to fool investigators? Why was Celia not spotted when the hotel was searched multiple times? Why didn’t the dogs on the search get her scent? The reveal is dramatic, but the logic behind it is questionable.
The long-running Felipe affair finally starts to unravel elsewhere. This subplot, alongside Jon’s complicated relationship with Leo, is one of the strongest emotional moments of the episode and Jon’s discovery is especially brutal.
Pablo’s sudden, unconvincing attempt at redemption. It’s nice to see him take some responsibility but the switch feels rushed and not fleshed out.
There is just one episode left, and a tough fight ahead for Oasis. The finale now faces the challenge of answering many questions while also providing a satisfying end to a mystery that has become increasingly messy. Whether it can bring everything together remains to be seen.
