Prime Video Drops First Ride or Die Trailer Starring Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham 2026

Prime Video has released the first official trailer for Ride or Die, giving fans a look at the action-comedy series fronted by Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham. It’s high-octane action with a dash of sharp humour and the series promises to be an entertaining cocktail of friendship, espionage and international adventure.

The streaming platform also revealed that all eight episodes of the new series will be released on July 15. The series will stream exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories.

Tessa Coates’s Ride or Die follows lifelong friends Debbie Claybourne and Judith Burton, played by Spencer and Waddingham. What seems like an ordinary friendship takes a dramatic turn when Debbie finds out a shocking truth about Judith’s secret life. When she finds out that Judith has been working as an international assassin, what she thought she knew about her best friend is thrown into question.

The story continues with the re-emergence of a dangerous character from Judith’s past, following a failed mission. This unforeseen threat forces the two to leave their normal lives behind and set off on a desperate journey across Europe. Debbie and Judith are hunted by the authorities, professional killers and powerful criminals. They must trust each other to survive and deal with secrets that could change their relationship forever.

The new footage showcases the show’s combination of explosive action and comedic moments. The trailer highlights the dramatic contrast between Debbie’s usual perspective and Judith’s life in the world of espionage, including high-speed chases, deadly showdowns, and fish-out-of-water moments. Spencer and Waddingham’s chemistry seems to be one of the show’s greatest assets, providing both heart and humour to the story.

Rounding out the top two, and plenty of support too, with Ed Skrein as Billy, Calam Lynch as Sam, Savannah Steyn as Queenie, Jamie Parker as David, Jacky Ido as Jacques, Sylvia Hoeks as Ana and Bill Nighy as The Director.

The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios and supported in production by Double Dream and Orit Entertainment. Creator and executive producer Tessa Coates, showrunner Matt Miller. Peyton Reed is the director and executive producer of the series.

Although action-comedies have grown in popularity on television, Ride or Die appears to distinguish itself by its intense focus on the shifting relationship between its two lead characters. With a mix of globe-trotting action, surprising twists and character-driven comedy, it could be one of Prime Video’s most anticipated releases of the summer.

Ride or Die will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on July 15.
