Review – Episode 12

Sold Out On You Episode 12 finale is all about emotional closure, justice and romance. Although the episode is full of melodramatic moments, especially for Chang-ho and Michelle’s villain arcs, it still manages to provide most of the characters with a happy ending.

Meanwhile, Chang-ho’s motivation is explained through his jealousy and resentment toward Matthew, though the backstory feels underdeveloped. Michelle’s fall from grace is also a little too quick and the show leaves her legal future unresolved. But both villains get punished for their crimes.

The village community is the most appealing part of the finale. The scene where everyone comes together to protect Matthew’s farm is funny and heartfelt, and one of the most memorable moments of the episode. It’s a reminder that the show is best when it’s about warmth, friendship and found family.

The finale is also emotionally weighted by Ye-jin’s reconciliation with her mother and father. Her last broadcast with Myung-hwa completes the circle, especially after all the two have been through.

In sum, Sold Out On You concludes on a positive and comforting note. It might not fix all the weak parts of the story, but it gives Matthew, Ye-jin and the supporting characters the happy ending the drama had been building toward.
