The episode opens with Olruggio and Agott riding along with Dagda, the man who came to seek the witches’ help. The story then jumps back a few moments, to show how the mission started.
Agott volunteered to help, and Qifrey clearly paused. He was afraid that her strong desire to demonstrate her abilities might lead her to make a big mistake. Agott was not about to back down, concerns or not.
Fortunately Olruggio intervened, promising to take her with him and creating portals for the others. The apprentices were ready, and the rescue mission was officially underway.
River Rescue with Magic
Back in the present, Olruggio opens the portals and everyone arrives at the site of the disaster. There is a wagon stuck in the middle of a fast flowing river with people inside.
Qifrey doesn’t waste time and splits the water around the wagon with a magic sword. Olruggio successfully rescues the passengers. Their co-operation soon sets the situation right in a flash and the nearby villagers are left agog at their astonishing magic.
Once the rescue is finished, Qifrey and Olruggio go their separate ways to look for the rest of the river, each with an apprentice. This leaves Coco and Agott.
Coco and Agott Encounter an Unexpected Crisis
Custas, Dagda’s foster son, tries to retrieve things from the wagon and trouble comes almost immediately. His actions cause a part of the riverbank to fall.
Custas is injured and loses consciousness, Coco falls along with him. She’s alright but her bag of magic tools gets washed into the water.
Panic spreads and the villagers urge Agott to do something. The pressure almost breaks her for a moment.
Coco’s voice brings her back to reality.
Coco wants to help and asks Agott for Olruggio’s rings. She dries her magic tools on them. But then there is the problem of casting magic without anyone seeing.
Thinking quickly, Agott makes a giant bird out of light to distract the villagers and secretly signals Qifrey for help. 🪄 Coco Uses Forbidden Magic
Coco sees a big rock blocking her escape route as Custas starts to wake up.
She is unable to levitate it, so she employs a spell she had learned from Richeh before: she shatters the rock, reducing it to sand.
With the obstacle gone, Coco flies Custas to safety, cheered on by everyone around.
But their victory is short.
The Moralis Knights Are Coming
Coco and Agott are suddenly captured and lifted high into the sky without warning.
They are held by the feared Knights Moralis, under the command of deputy captain Easthies.
Easthies immediately accuses the girls of being in league with the Brimmed Caps. Coco tries to explain that she was only using harmless magic but the evidence says otherwise.
They looked down and saw that the whole area around the broken rock had disintegrated completely into sand. Neither Coco nor Agott can explain what happened.
Coco does the spell and Easthies is ready to wipe her memories.

Witch Hat Atelier continues to impress week after week, another reason being Episode 7. It hits the sweet spot between emotional character growth, exciting magical action, and major world-building.
This one Agott easily steals the show. She tries to prove herself a lot and her love for magic is clearly evident. She is one of the most relatable characters in the series. It was both inspiring and heartbreaking to hear her battle insecurity and rise to the occasion when the chips were down. 💜
The arrival of the Knights Moralis changes everything, meanwhile. Their inflexible sense of justice poses a tense new threat, and Coco’s terrifying cliffhanger has fans itching for the next episode.
