In the aftermath of the explosive season four finale, The Boys picks up right where everything changed. Butcher’s walked away from the team, while Homelander and Sage cement their hold on power.
Season 5 is set one year later. Annie January is the star of her own vigilante group, the Starlighters, and has been labeled a terrorist. She goes underground and keeps fighting alone. Meanwhile, Butcher is working on a deadly virus that could kill all the supes, including Homelander. Soon after, Homelander gives the order to execute MM, Frenchie and Hughie who are being held in internment camps. His mission has him meeting Annie and Kimiko again.
Meanwhile, Homelander is on the hunt for V1, the prototype for Compound V. If he succeeds he may become unstoppable permanently, negating the Butcher’s virus. Homelander, determined to protect his plan, forms an awkward alliance with his father, Soldier Boy, despite their violent past.
Stars returning include Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Susan Heyward and Jensen Ackles. Series creator Eric Kripke is best known for creating the long-running hit, Supernatural.
