What is Widow’s Bay All About?
Widow’s Bay is a remote island town off the coast of New England and things are not quite as peaceful as they seem. No real connection to the outside world and a community steeped in superstition the island has a reputation that outsiders are quick to dismiss… but locals know better.
Mayor Tom Loftis is in the center and is determined to revitalize his dying town and make a better life for his son. Against all odds he brings tourists back to the island, but with every visitor comes a story long buried by time.

Will there be a season 2 of Widow’s Bay?
Unfortunately, at the time of writing, Widow’s Bay has not been renewed for season 2.
Typically Apple would look at a bunch of metrics before renewing a show, including how many people watch it at first and then look at the drop-off rate. What we do know is that finishing a series is one of the most important criteria here.
Sometimes cancellations or renewals come quickly for some shows. Sometimes months pass before a decision on a show’s future is made.
Critics and audiences alike have had a really good reaction to Widow’s Bay so far, with many commenting on the solid plot and characters that are carrying this one week to week.
The way this story has been developed and the ending we get it seems highly probable this one will be back for another round of action on the island.
Apple are generally much more lenient with their IPs, giving shows a proper chance to find an audience and renewing even moderately successful shows for multiple follow-up seasons.
Based on what we know, we’re predicting this will be renewed for a second season. The series is drawing a decent crowd and that’s probably going to be a tipping point for Apple.
But we could also be completely wrong here so we’ll have to wait and see what the streamers get up to.
Widow’s Bay season 2 release date?
As of writing, we don’t know much as Apple haven’t officially announced a renewal or a cancellation for this one.
For all that, the show doesn’t feel like a closed-ended story. Without spoiling too much, season 1 ends with a couple of loose ends and the last batch of episodes make it clear Tom and the island’s inhabitants have more trouble on the horizon.
A second season would likely have Tom back in the fold once again, with another strange mystery threatening to upend life on Widow’s Bay.
It also feels like the creative team have more ideas in the tank and aren’t wrapping everything up neatly and moving on.
That doesn’t guarantee renewal, of course, but it does mean Widow’s Bay has been designed with future seasons in mind.
We’ll have to wait and see if Apple gives this oddball horror-comedy another chance to haunt the island, for now.
