Go For It, Nakamura! Episode 10 Recap & Review: Nakamura Learns More About Hirose

Nakamura Has Trouble Studying Around Hirose

Go For It, Nakamura! Episode 10 Starts with Otogiri trying to take a smoke break after a long day but Niou catches him and reminds him that there is no smoking on school property.

The next day Otogiri tells the class that the upcoming test will be hard. Nakamura was anxious about the exam, so she decided to study at the library after school. Unfortunately when he arrives the library is already full.

Fortunately Hirose is there with his friends and invites Nakamura to sit with them. Nakamura is excited to be sitting next to Hirose but the excitement quickly turns into a problem. He doesn’t concentrate on his studies, but he keeps an eye on Hirose, and finds the little things about him adorable.

Group Eats at a Family Restaurant

Finally, Takeuchi says he’s hungry and suggests everyone go to a family restaurant. Nakamura expected to be left out, but Hirose invited him along.

At the restaurant the boys discuss their favorite shows, music and games. Nakamura doesn’t know much about any of the subjects, but he is too embarrassed to admit it and feels awkward.

Later, Nakamura accompanies Hirose to get drinks for the group. During their conversation, he finds out that Hirose doesn’t like coffee, but Hirose says his sister likes to drink it with hot chocolate. Nakamura decides to take a chance and finds himself learning more intimate details about Hirose, bit by bit.

Hirose then offers to put coffee in Takeuchi’s cola as a joke. They return to the table and Takeuchi takes a sip, then spits it out. Unfortunately Nakamura is right in front of him and ends up covered in coffee and coke.

Otogiri, meanwhile, is back at school and sees that Niou is running around again. Eventually he learns that Niou has another reason for this. He wants to see a teacher he likes.

Nakamura joins lovable lunch event

The second half of the episode is Lovable Lunches. To celebrate the anime, an autograph signing event is being held and Nakamura is looking forward to attending.

Kawamura is going too, and her friends are going, because Kawamura has a ticket to the event. They go to a Lovable Lunches restaurant before they sign. Kawamura’s friends leave after eating to go about their own business, and she waits around the bookstore.

Nakamura sees Kawamura and panics, hiding away. He’s embarrassed at the thought she’ll see him at the event but he knows he doesn’t want to miss the signing. He takes a Lovable Lunches cloth and wraps it around his face like a mask to hide his identity.

The disguise just makes him look suspicious. People begin to look at him, and a police officer even comes up to him. Worse, Kawamura recognizes him at once. She is not surprised by this, as she knew Nakamura liked Lovable Lunches.

Creator Meets Nakamura

As the line moves on, Nakamura realizes he will have very little time to speak to the creator. He gets nervous and begins to think about what to say.

Kawamura gets her autograph and passes the author a letter before he can brace himself. Then Nakamura has his go.

For a moment, Nakamura gets so stiff and awkward that he terrifies the mangaka. But the creator soon discovers that Nakamura is just a shy but devoted fan. He’s nice to Nakamura and makes the moment memorable for him. Nakamura even gets a special drawing of his favorite character, making it a truly meaningful experience.

Review of Episode

Episode 10 is at its best when it focuses on Nakamura’s universal emotions. The first half conveys the weird sensation that someone you like has a whole life and personality and set of interests you still don’t fully know. This is intimidating and exciting for Nakamura.

The scenes between him and Hirose in the restaurant are simple but add some warmth to the episode. Nakamura learns more about Hirose through small details, like whether he likes coffee or how he jokes with friends. These moments also show that being interested in someone can make even the dullest conversations seem important.

Second half is a bit less emotional than the first, but still enjoyable. Kawamura, by taking the focus off Hirose, gains more breathing room in the story and the episode gets variety. It’s funny to see Nakamura being awkward at the signing event, but it also shows you another side to him as a passionate fan.

Go For It, Nakamura! Episode 10 is a sweet, charming episode overall. It may not be the strongest episode of the season but it has plenty of humor, tenderness and character-focused moments as the series heads towards its finale
