In Glory Episode 3, Detectives Arvind and Barsola investigate the brutal murder of Sunny. The authorities are towing the excavator away from the crime scene and both men know this could provoke a dangerous reaction from Kookie.
Sunny’s death. Arvind calls Ravi and asks him straight away. Ravi says he has nothing to do with the murder and somebody else has done it. But he is deliberately hiding that he could know more than he is willing to share. Soon after, Kookie arrives on the scene and orders his men to find whoever killed his nephew.
Meanwhile Ravi and Dev reach Nihal’s house and confront Hukum about Sunny’s killing. Dev is furious when he learns that Joyna has given Nihal’s family details linking Sunny to previous events. Dev holds her responsible and thinks that her actions may have ruined their chances of finding the truth behind Nihal and Gudiya’s death.
Later Arvind meets Ravi and Dev and shares an important breakthrough. Sunny’s last phone call, on the night Nihal was murdered, was to someone at the National Sports Institute, on a landline. Using Joyna’s press credentials to get into the facility, the group is desperate to find out who had called.
Tension remains high after Dev’s earlier confrontation but Ravi and Dev apologise to Joyna and ask for her help. She agrees, and goes to the NSI headquarters. She meets Coach Panicker, and asks to see the building. She investigates and calls the number. She finds that the landline is a payphone in the boys’ hostel.
But there is political maneuvering afoot in the boxing world at the same time. Viju finds Sanjay Mishra, president of the Indian Olympic Boxing Association, trying to get Nihal’s empty place for one of his fighters. But soon comes Raghubir with the same objective. Sanjay proposes a solution to the conflict, suggesting that the two academies compete and the winner takes the place.
Back at the academy, Raghubir intensifies the training, and chooses Ravi to represent the family. He tells Ravi to get stronger and to prepare for the contest ahead. Dev is at first resentful that Ravi has once again fallen in line with their father’s wishes, but Ravi asks Dev to coach him, hoping to rebuild their trust.
Raka is appointed as Ravi’s sparring partner and the training sessions become intense quickly. Ten days before the match, Raka beats Ravi in practice. Raghubir is disappointed. Bharti binds Ravi’s wounds and soothes him. She also shares her painful past with him. She urges him to stop running from his relationship with his father and to seek his guidance.
Ravi follows her advice and approaches Raghubir to train him himself. Ravi’s decision hurts Dev but he tells him that their real mission is to take revenge of Gudiya and find out the truth.
As training continues, Raghubir teaches Ravi how to study an opponent’s rhythm before he attacks. But when he beats Ravi with a stick for a mistake, his cruel methods are back. This pushes Dev over the edge and he confronts his father about years of abuse.
Elsewhere, Kookie finds out Dev was tailing Sunny, the night of the murder, which complicates the investigation.
At the same time Raka is frustrated for being ignored. He feels betrayed and decides to leave the academy and join Viju. He tells him important information about Raghubir’s defensive strategies.
The day of the fight comes. Ravi goes to the ring for the decisive match. Viju sends his fighter, Dharam, Arjun’s brother. Viju asks Dharam to take revenge for his brother’s death and the stakes get emotional.
As the match begins, Ravi is haunted by the painful memories of his fight with Arjun in the past. Viju bribed the judges (shown in flashbacks during a break) and Raghubir advised Ravi to aim for Arjun’s throat. Ravi obeyed that order and it led to the tragic death of Arjun.
Ravi is haunted by guilt and trauma, unable to concentrate on the present. Dharam takes the opportunity and knocks Ravi unconscious and the episode ends on a dramatic note.
Episode Review
Episode 3 ups the emotional and psychological stakes so much while also continuing to expand the murder mystery. The mix of family conflict, buried trauma and political corruption within the boxing world generates a powerful momentum for the story.
But one of the best things about the episode is still Ravi’s internal conflict, especially with his past actions continuing to haunt him. The growing rift between Dev and Raghubir also lends an emotional dimension to the film, with old wounds informing their choices.
The investigation into Sunny’s murder is still moving forward, but the characters still seem to be taking a complicated route to the truth. New suspicions around Dev and new revelations about Ravi’s past are beginning to add the intensity and intrigue to the series that’s needed to maintain viewer investment.
